Non-Protocol-Based Application (nPBA) Information Session  (back)

Description:
As part of the IRB Efficiency Project (IEP), several changes have been, and continue to be, made to the IRB review process, including changes to the ARROW applications. One key change is the inclusion of a new, non-protocol-based application (nPBA).

Researchers with studies likely to be minimal risk and without a standalone protocol, including exemptions, will be able to use the nPBA. The nPBA is a more streamlined application for these kinds of studies and, where possible, removes decision points for study teams that can cause delays. It will retain tools, such as the template language, that already reduce delays and burden. The nPBA will go-live in mid-December. Please note, the nPBA will largely be used by researchers who submit to the Minimal Risk Research IRB.

The information session will cover the following topics:

• An introduction to the IEP
• Overview of using the nPBA
• Resources
• Q&A
