The HR Communities of Practice (CoP) and Learning and Talent Development (LTD) Teams in the Office of Human Resources (OHR) are excited to announce the third annual HR@UW-Madison Conference on Tuesday, December 11th at Union South from 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM.
Intended for HR & Payroll Professionals primarily (but not exclusively) at UW-Madison, the conference will provide a unique opportunity for all of us in the HR community, including those whose roles more tangentially touch HR, to gain expertise, share knowledge, and build our networks.
The conference will highlight informational and interactive sessions on HR technical knowledge and expertise, HR Competency-related topics, and general topics related to leadership and culture.
Our keynote is Haydn Shaw, a leading expert on multiple generations in the workplace, leadership, change management, personal productivity, and trust. He has worked with Franklin Covey for 23 years as a senior consultant and is the author of Sticking Points: How to Get 4 Generations Working Together in the 12 Places They Come Apart. He leads some of Franklin Covey's best-selling workshops, including “Leading Across Generations” and “Working Across Generations.”
Breakout sessions will include:
- Conscious Communication: Navigate Control and Power Through Four Ways of Hearing with Mary Hoddy (Emeritus) and Mary Kay Reinemann (Wisconsin Empathy Guild) - Culture is the New Paycheck with Zach Blumenfeld (ThirdSpace) - A Deeper Dive with MBTI with teri engelke (School of Education) - Disability Myths Busters with Barb Lanser (Office of Equity & Diversity) and Magler and Mike Mohr (McBurney Center) - Prime and Prejudice with Alex Stajkovic and Kayla Sergent (UW–Madison School of Business) - Trauma Informed HR with Robin Matthies (Department of Health Services, Wisconsin Division of Public Health)
