This is Session 1 of WISELI’s two-session workshop series for chairs and members of faculty search committees at UW-Madison. Both sessions rely on active learning principles and encourage small groups of search committee members to learn from each other’s experiences. (Please note: This workshop is only open to UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students who are currently serving on search committees.)
Session 1: We will share strategies for actively recruiting a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates, increase awareness of unconscious assumptions and their influence on the evaluation of candidates, and discuss evidence based strategies for minimizing this influence and for conducting equitable evaluations.
You will also need to register for session 2 of this workshop which will focus on interviewing candidates and gaining acceptance of job offers.
