2024 Project RED Volunteer Registration - EC River
This one-day event connects volunteers, water lovers, and local groups in a search for aquatic invasive species (AIS). You can help protect Wisconsin's rivers and lakes from these invasive plants and animals that negatively impact habitat, wildlife, recreation and health. This event is coordinated in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Beaver Creek Reserve, and YOU!

During this event, you will be outdoors searching for AIS at pre-selected sites after a brief training. Some sites may be located in remote areas with limited cellular reception while others are located in more urban areas. Inclement weather such as rain and wind are possible. The event will be cancelled if there is lightning or thunderstorms. You will be notified by your site leader if this is the case. During AIS monitoring, there may be slippery and uneven surfaces. You are encouraged to wear supportive footwear and to avoid concrete boat ramps and steep banks.

Participants are welcome to, but not required, to wade into the water to search for AIS. If entering the water, caution should be used to avoid slippery surfaces, steep banks, and areas of strong currents. You are encouraged to wear a life jacket.

Minors are welcome to attend this event, but must be accompanied by an adult. We do not provide custodial care to minors.
