This year’s case competition will focus on Procter & Gamble's laundry care business and how the Downy Team can improve its Liquid Fabric Enhancer business, focusing on addressing the needs of diverse consumers. The business problem involves helping drive more product adoption among younger Black and African American, Hispanic, and Asian consumers. Older generations of consumers within these groups are still loyal to P&G's products and brands, however, younger Millennials and Gen Z consumers are not using at the same rates as their parents’ generation. As a participant in this year’s P&G Case Competition, you’ll be tasked with understanding what’s important to these consumers, reasons they are not using fabric softeners, and ways we can attract them back into their product category. We will enable you with quick consumer research tools, the basics of got-to-market strategy, and how to use storytelling as an effective persuasive tool. This event is open to first-year students only and is a low-stress learning environment. It is a fantastic opportunity to try out a case competition and meet fellow first-year students interested in business!
*Please note the event is a two-day case competition and will run from 8:45-4:30 pm on November 2nd and from 8:45-12:30 pm on November 3rd. Questions can be sent to Kate McNally at kate.mcnally@wisc.edu.
