PEOPLE
Conflict Management *
Conflict Management is the process of limiting the negative aspects of conflict while increasing the positive aspect to restore focus on the company's overall goals.
Collaboration *
Collaboration is the action of working with someone to get things done. Topics within collaboration can include Remote Collaboration, Campus Community Partnerships, and Interpersonal Networking.
Change Management *
Change management is the process, tools, and techniques used to manage the organizational- and people-side of change to minimize impact and achieve the required outcome.
Public Relations *
Public Relations is about influencing, engaging and building a relationship with key stakeholders to shape and frame public perception of an organization.
Self Care *
Self care refers to actions and attitudes which contribute to the maintenance of well-being and personal health and promote human development. Topics under self-care can include Imposter Syndrome, Emotional Intelligence, and Self Management.
Bias *
Bias is an implicit or explicit preference in favor of or against someone or something compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair. Topics under bias could also include issues of Diversity, Digital Ethics, and Inclusive Service.
Project Management *
Project Management is the discipline of leading a team’s tasks to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria on time.
USER EXPERIENCE
Requirements Gathering *
Requirements Gathering is the practice of collecting the requirements of a system or process from stakeholders.
Usability *
Usability is the practice of building an easy to use website or program to provide the best user experience possible. Topics under usability can include Responsive Design, User Interface Design, and User Experience Assessment.
Accessibility *
Accessibility enables individuals with disabilities to perceive, understand, navigate, interact with, and contribute to the web.
User Education *
User Education is any effort formal or informal, which will guide and instruct existing and potential users in the recognition and formulation of their needs. Topics under user education include Documentation and Training.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
Development Environment / Version Control *
Development environment is the decision making process(es) about what language, tools, frameworks etc. work best for different applications. Version Control is the management of changes to documents, computer programs, large web sites, and other collections of information, including the resulting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) workflows based on version repository changes.
Architecture *
Architecture is a high level structures of a software system or codebase, the discipline of creating such structures, and the documentation of these structures. Topics within development methodologies can include Build vs. Buy, Open Source, and Local vs. Cloud.
Front End Development *
Front End Development is the practice of producing HTML, CSS and JavaScript for a website or Web Application so that a user can see and interact with them directly.
Application Programming Interface (APIs) *
Application Programming Interface (API) is an interface that software uses to access data, server software, or other applications to build mobile and web applications.
Development Methodologies *
Development Methodologies is the process of dividing software development work into distinct disciplined phases to improve design, product management, and project management.
DEV OPS / CLOUD
Containers *
Containers are a lightweight, stand-alone, executable packages of software that includes everything needed to run it: code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, and settings.
Identity Management *
Identity Management (IdM) is the task of controlling information about users, their roles, and user permissions on systems. Topics included in identity management can include Authentication and Authorization.
Middleware *
Middleware is a layer of software that connects client and back-end systems and 'glues' programs together.
Cloud Hosting & Services *
Cloud Hosting & Services enable ubiquitous access to shared pools of configurable system resources and higher-level services that can be rapidly provisioned with minimal management effort.
SYS ADMIN
Disaster Recovery *
Disaster Recovery is a documented process or set of procedures to recover and protect an IT infrastructure in the event of a disaster.  Topics can also include identifying how we do COOP (Continuity of Operations).
Systems Management *
Systems Management is the enterprise-wide administration of systems such as hardware/software inventories, capacity and utilization monitoring, metrics, installation, and security and anti-virus systems.  Doing configuration management and infrastructure management of systems on premise and in the cloud.
Issue Tracking *
Issue Tracking involves managing and maintaining lists of bugs, requested features, tasks, missing documentation, HelpDesk cases, etc.
Configuration and Dependency Management *
Configuration and Dependency Management is an architectural planning tool that maps dependencies between disparate IT systems and provides guidance on creating a recovery plan should a system(s) fail.
OTHER TOPICS
IT Governance *
IT Governance is the structures and processes addressing Information Technology decision making—setting priorities, determining policy, setting and spending the budget, evaluating effectiveness
Emerging Technologies *
Emerging Technologies would include a showcase or discussion of new technologies that may or may not impact your work. Topics under emerging technologies could include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented and/or Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Quantum Computing, Adaptive Learning and/or Learning Analytics.
