The Teaching Academy invites you to enjoy a hot breakfast and our annual winter retreat on Identifying Communities of Practice, on Friday, January 16th from 8:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at Varsity Hall II of Union South.
Retreat activities include:
Pop-up Talks by campus leaders of existing communities of practice. Speakers will discuss the defining moment when they realized that a Community of Practice had formed, and its impact on their teaching/practice.
Working Session for attendees to better their understanding of what a community of practice can be and to gain effective strategies for cultivating social learning groups.
The retreat is open to the whole UW-Madison community. Breakfast sandwiches, coffee and cakes will be provided. Resources for the working session and more event information are available at http://go.wisc.edu/85bbwi and space is limited to 120, so register soon.
