The inaugural SMPH Diversity Summit, entitled “Identity and Resiliency: An Exploration of the Black Experience in Academic Medicine,” will take place 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Health Sciences Learning Center. The keynote speaker is Feranmi Okanlami, MD. Learn more

Allan Brasier to lead ICTR

Allan Brasier, MD, director of the Institutes for Translational Research and Translational Science at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, will serve as executive director of ICTR, as well as the senior associate dean for clinical and translational research at the School of Medicine and Public Health. He will succeed Marc Drezner, MD, beginning July 1. Learn more

Sheri Johnson is new director of Population Health Institute

Sheri Johnson, PhD, a leading advocate for health equity, is the new director of the UW Population Health Institute. Johnson comes to Madison from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she was associate professor of pediatrics and associate director of the Center for the Advancement of Underserved Children.
