WISELI’s workshop series for chairs and members of faculty search committees consist of two sessions. Both sessions rely on active learning principles and encourage small groups of search committee members to learn from each other’s experiences. Each session is described below:
Session 1: We will share strategies for running an effective and efficient search and actively recruiting a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates. We will increase awareness of unconscious assumptions and their influence on the evaluation of candidates, and discuss evidence based strategies for minimizing this influence and for conducting equitable evaluations.
