September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. In honor of this, UWell and the UW-Madison Suicide Prevention Council are combining our September meetings in order to provide a large open forum to preview and answer questions about the range of mental health services and programs available to all members of our community. A list of topics is indicated below, but we will also take questions at the meeting.
We are opening this event to additional participants outside of our council members (both employees and students are welcome) who may be interested in this kind of information or who have questions about the topics listed below.
Updates and Q&A about the following: - Suicide Prevention Awareness Month at UW - Mental Health Services at UHS – Update on changes to accessing services as of Fall 2017. Why are there changes? What does it mean for students seeking services for the first time? What does it mean for others making referrals? - Campus Based Services from UHS – Why are UHS Mental Health providers out on campus? What CBS services are available this semester? How can units/depts./orgs make requests for trainings or presentations? - Preview/demo of SilverCloud, the new online mental health program available to UW students and employees – How to access it? What does it provide?
